Privacy and cookie policy
Last updated: 8 July 2026
Wax On Digital ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through waxondigital.com, how we use it and the choices you have.
Who we are
Wax On Digital is a digital marketing consultancy. You can contact us about anything in this policy at jon@waxondigital.com.
What we collect and why
- Contact form details. If you send an enquiry we receive the name, email address, company name and message you provide. We use these only to reply to you. The form is processed on our own domain by Cloudflare, our infrastructure provider, which relays your message to our email inbox.
- Analytics data. With your consent (where required), we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, approximate location, device type and how you found us. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. IP addresses are anonymised.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use them as follows:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors for aggregate usage statistics | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics | Maintains session state for analytics | 2 years |
| wod-consent | Wax On Digital (localStorage) | Remembers your cookie consent choice | Until cleared |
Your consent
If you visit from the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, analytics cookies are switched off by default. We use Google Consent Mode so that no analytics cookies are set until you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. If you choose "Reject non-essential", no analytics cookies are set at all.
You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page, or by clearing cookies and site data in your browser.
Legal bases
- We process contact form data on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and as a step towards entering into a contract with you.
- We process analytics data on the basis of your consent, where the UK GDPR, EU GDPR or Swiss law applies.
How long we keep data
Enquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting work. Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. It is processed by the following providers on our behalf:
- GitHub Pages hosts this website and processes standard server logs.
- Cloudflare provides our DNS, email routing and the service that relays contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Google provides analytics as described above.
Your rights
Under data protection law you have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email jon@waxondigital.com. You also have the right to complain to your supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top.
